Dragon models 1/35 Morser Thor - big old boy
Greetings All, Posted some of these on the previous forum, wanted to preserve this one for posterity because I've sold it on - loved building it (apart from when I kept twanging the hand rails...). I painted the Thor name as you can see, not entirely happy with it, decals split every time. I tend to keep the built model for a bit, then sell for not much to cover costs of next project. Hopefully will be a good basis for a diorama. Keep on going everyone, good to see folk posting and filling the forum. Regards John

Jim is right, what a beauty. I´m not a big modern jet fan, but yours looks fantastic and I like the dynamic pose on the base, screaming speeeeeed. Cheers Rob

1/48 Meng F/A-18F Super Hornet
So, Jim said I had to post this... So getting off to a flying start, literally! First model of the year done and dusted, completed last month, and I've already beaten last year's completion total. Meng 1/48 F/A-18F Super Hornet features Gloria Model intakes, 3D-printed injection seats from Minimasonmodels on Cults3D, GBU-12 from Mr.Plamo, GBU-38 from Bluey, and AIM-9x from Model-Ma-King also Cults3D. Decals are Ronin Graphics, the Australian distributor of Meng, included a small addition sheet to build it as a 1 Squadron RAAF Super Hornet during Operation OKRA in Afghanistan in 2015. While the build was enjoyable and my first ever completed jet, I did make a couple of mistakes, a reminder that I'm not as sharp as I used to be and a tad rusty for not completing anything for over 18-24 months. Still, the end result I'm happy with. If you want more detail on how this came together, I’m giving YouTube a whirl, narrated in a smooth Kiwi accent for your listening pleasure - https://youtu.be/c8LU20ZwcEU?si=T0QJcCheFG0fMoLP Ran the model through ChatGPT to give it an Afghanistan‑inspired background

1:24 Airfix Spitfire conversion. Mk.IX - Mk.XVI
This goes together beautifully. The casting is exceptional and the instructions nice and clear. Definitely worth a punt. Ok, here we go. These will be the last photos of this build for a few weeks until I finish HMS Surprise. Internal detail painting and decals are now done. You can clearly see the cut down rear bulkheads in this image. The nest update should show the airframe coming together for paint.

What is on your bench right now?
It's definitely do-able. I built one a few years ago all closed up like you're doing.

1:64 HMS Surprise kit prototype (Vanguard Models)
Fantastic work. Wood ship models have always looked fascinating to build. Yours is no exception. Carl

Nice to see this being built. I was considering the conversion set as well so it'll be great to see how well it goes together. Carl

Revell's U-505
This will be a fun build to follow along with. A couple years ago, we saw U-505 in Chicago and my son has wanted to build a model of it since. I was hoping that Revell would do a 1/144 version for him but not yet. As for thin sanders, Madworks makes some PE Sanders that might work. They come in different widths and you apply adhesive backed sandpaper to them. Creating AI 3D figures from a photo - Tutorial
So, Jeroen... they mention a number of free-retries on each of their plans. How many retries did you use on your figure?

Revell's U-505
It's not so bad. Dremel does most of the work. Clean-up is the big issue. For all of the smaller holes at the bottom, I will have to custom make more sanding sticks to fit the tiny holes. I have more double-sided tape on the way. Thinner tape for easier access.

What is on your bench right now?
Nice looking kit Martin from the looks of it.I have the Ole Revell 1/32 Mk24 on the bench the build is not to fix anything but to get a decent looking Mk from 3' away ...atleast that's the goal.No gun bays,no engine and barely a copit left out a lot of BS.😉

3D printing the 1/32 Avro Anson. Step by step.
For now i will try vacforming. The Anson was able to open a lot of sliding windows. This will be easier with a vacform canopy. Sprayed mr Surfacer but will seal it in with Klear. My experience is that the heat from vacforming attacks mr Surfacer…

Revell's U-505
Nice one! I have started many u-boat models in the past but only managed to finish one. The 1/32 andrea miniatures resin conning tower. A beast of a model with white metal figures. I did not survive my last house move.

Revell's U-505
Great start. Opening all of those little holes seems like a serious character building exercise. A will follow with interest. Cheers Martin

What is on your bench right now?
Last night I found box with Zvezda’s La-5FN. Has been sitting there for over a decade and I never opened it before , So I did and started slapping bits together. Not sure where this is going to lead , but I like the process.

Italeri Harley WLA .
Some time ago i built the 1/9 Military Harley WLA from Italeri. Recently i decided to do a civilian conversion to sit along side my original military version . These civilian WLD version bikes didnt have the cut down mudguards of the military bikes so i constructed some sides for the kit mudguards from plastic card, added some chrome and bling and laced the wheels with wire spokes. Spokes are nickel silver, paint is Tamiya mica red, mudguards are 0.5mm plastic card , chrome is Molotow pen refill decanted into an airbrush

Very impressive, those old WnW kits just immerse the builder and bring out the best in them
