  1. First windshield vacform test is promising
  2. I see a lot of chatter about the price. I myself think it's fair though if you see the details you get.
  3. Saw this at Telford. Great looking plane.
  4. So far i can say i’m really impressed woth the fit and detail. Really diving deep in my references and i only spotted a few minor things: Fire extinguisher could be better shape and detail wise. The props are off. I drew a new set. Wing sack is too prominent. The wings were plywood and only showed a little sack. There is a venturi tube missing on the top of the left engine. That’s it for now
  5. this exceeds my skills. I need grimy weathering to hide my fudge ups!
  6. So... I thought about it and I might... 3d draw a turret without framing and 3d print the separate framing. This is tricky because the framing should be really thin and the fit should be flawless. I did a quick trial in 3d and I think it might work. Not sure yet. I think the vac form I pulled with the framing incorporated will do nice as well. Masking it is doable too. We'll see.
  7. Started painting the figures. 6 in total m. First time using vallejo water based paint.
  8. I thought about that. I'd need to draw a new version with just the bottom ring and the opening. Then add the framing later with strips of tape I guess. I would not want this ribs to overlap, making it more work than I initially thought. I think masking this turret in the end is easier. Maybe...
  9. I just carefully pulled and twisted :))
  10. Also drew up the Lofte bombsight. The MDC one was toast and looked like a piece of chewing gum. Also drew the upper access panel to the bomb aimer. And made the glass by vacforming it.
  11. Since i lost all my previous data, i’ll add some older in progress shots as i go along. Here’s the measurement apparatus as seen in the read cockpit of this machine. I drew this up in Cinema4D.
  12. Speeding things up now. Matt coat and panel line washes are on. Now adding scratches and patches. Also adding the groundwork and grass.
  13. Some succesful tests with the vacformed gun turret
  14. so cool. I'm building this kit as a Brit Tomahawk II with photo recon conversion. For this I also bought the Master Barrels, but then the .303 brit Brownings.
  15. After a few failed attempts I'm finally getting close to a proper prop. The bottom one you see is just a template I made for the shape, taken of a photo and drawing.
  16. Lovely little bird! I know how i would display this. I’d put in a vintage birdcage! Don’t ask me why though. I’m a bit weird that way
  17. This is maybe my best model. Or: the one I'm most proud of. It started of as a Revell Fw190A, which I transformed to a A8 by 3D printing the cannon bulges and ejection chutes under the wing. I was gifted a piece of aileron with the paint and some fabric still on, recovered around 1980 in Vreeland. Close to Schiphol Airport in The Netherlands during Operation Bodenplatte. Heinz-Jürgen Kilian of 3./JG1 was hit by friendly AA and managed to bail out. His chute did not open, or opened too late and he landed hard on a frozen stream and died. The base was made of laser but and bend aluminium sprayed RLM66. The trim gauge and fuse button are from a Fw190A and can both be found in the left console. I used 1ManArmy masks, all the Eduard sets I could find, etc..
  18. Yes it is, but I helpend Ai by also uploading a vague photo I found of the rear. You really need to help Ai a lot.
