Hah! As I'm carefully placing the included pushrods, I have realized that there aren't enough. So,,,,,,,,,, I guess I'll be carefully cutting and sizing styrene rod to make up for missing pushrods.

This much is done on the Eduard engine. Pushrods (36) are next.

I've been working on the Eduard engine. Painted the cylinder heads, the air baffles, and added panel line wash to the cylinder heads. And I've been working out the assembly process without actually gluing anything yet. There is just enough play in the parts fit that it could end up wonky. If you're counting cylinders, the other two are out of sight to the left on clip-sticks for adding the panel line wash. I cut them from casting blocks to start working out the assembly procedure.

Working on weathering. I've added panel lines, some oil, fuel spillage, and dirt from the landing gear and a flatish coat. Next, I'll use some pencils to add more wear. I get the feeling that I should have perhaps added more oil when looking at the photo.

@JohnB593 John, did you pre-order from Squadron? Did you see that there were some 3D printed parts that were left out? Inner wheel parts. If you bought from Squadron, you should have received an email related to the missing parts and them being shipped to you. They were, IIRC, part numbers R3 (2 pieces), R4, and R5. I also saw something from Sprue about the parts too.

Well, I've been getting a room at the show hotel, so it's easy to take things to the room and then go back. It wasn't all purchased at one time. It was spread over several days. It was at one of the vendor tables. I suspect he is someone who buys collections. There were 8-10 Wingleader books. That is where I picked up the AIMS decal sheet too.

Goodies from NATS. I'm sure you'll think that I got a little carried away at the Z-M booth. NATS stuff. I'm not an armor guy, but..... I decided to purchase another P-51 and a 109K-4. The P-51 was 15% off. Reading material. Other miscellaneous items. A great time at NATS!

This was delivered while I was at NATS. While standing in line at the Squadron check out, the fellow ahead of me was buying a P-51 kit and was told about the missing pieces and handed a little plastic bag with the missing parts. I asked if that included the kit that was delivered to my home the day before by UPS. It was confirmed and I was given the parts too.

@Paddy Okay, I'm at the IPMS-USA Nats, I've now had some time to look through airbrushing groups on FB. Are you familiar with Barwell Bodyworks? My impression is that they are a Badger dealer in the UK.

My wife gifted me for my birthday an H&S 2024 Evolution with the 0.25m setup. I really like it and have used it down to 10 psi. H&S does have a 0.15mm setup but you have to purchase it separately. on the Badger, I’ve seen an airbrush supplier mentioned in the UK but ATM I can’t remember the name. If you do FB there’s a group, Airbrush for beginners. Advice from Pros., that I follow. I’m sure someone there can help with where to get parts.

Okay, decals are on. They're 'ok'. I was disappointed in the shark mouth. It will need some paint touch up. Perhaps it's me. The shark mouth on a Z-M F-4 kit was in two pieces, and it went on perfectly. Off to NATS. Me, not the P-40. I'll be wearing my P-40 Hawaiian shirt. If you see me, say Hi. Dave

Squadron says mine has shipped. 😁 It will probably arrive while I'm at NATS next week.

I have time now, but any physical start won't be 'til the P-40 is finished sometime after NATS. I pulled the kit from the stash several months ago, with plans to start it after the P-40. I purchased the conversion kit from B&B Resin back when Tim first released it. I've also picked up various AM sets but I'm not sure which ones I'll use. I had also picked up this resin base and I'm thinking about using it in the project. In spare moments, I've started painting the base. In addition to paint, I've done some experimenting with pigments. If you look there are a couple locations that I've added the pigments but the bottle that I have won't handle the whole area, so I'm hoping to pick up some more at NATS. I've also been working on learning Fusion by modeling an Instrument Panel. It is a different workflow than what I'm used to with the other 3D software I'm used to working in. I have not yet printed the IP nor tested how it fits in the model yet. There appear to be no known photos of the F4U-2 IP. There is a photo of what appears to be a mock-up. (See references below.) The other 3D software that I'm used to is Modo. It is more of a digital content software than CAD, and I have ideas of modeling figures in it. I can then rig them and pose them. I guess, old school, these days with AI. I have not yet chosen a specific aircraft but obviously it will land based. Some additional reference information.
