  1. I always liked the functional, modular, look of the Eagle, and the kits do it justice. Even now, though, I am still wondering where the fuel for these big rockets was stored 😉 Hubert
  2. You read my mind ! I was just doing that : counting the cylinders 😂 ! Hubert
  3. I think you placed the last post in the wrong thread, Paddy … For tensioning monofilament, I use an incandescent toothpick. Largely enough to tension the chosen wire without endangerîng the nearby ones. The flimsy structure of the kit reflects the scale-accuracy of WnW kits … But it also shows that using monofilament is necessary for the integrity of these kits. It’s prefrebale to have an inaccurate round monofilament than an accurate, but structurally useless, flat elastic wire like Prym, IMHO. Although I have found some flat monofilament, but it probably still too large for WWI kits (but not for a Stringbag, for instance) Hubert
  4. Wow, Rod ! As usual, outstanding build and photography 👍 ! Hubert
  5. Really good for a grandmother of a kit 👍 ! Hubert
  6. It’s looking great, Carl ! I am happy I took the plunge on this one, and can’t wait to receive mine. Hubert
  7. Found some tools that should help you, John …
  8. Great effort (I’d have dumped the lot vertically before reaching this point ) ! If I may, you still need a bit of scrapping and sandpaper around a dowel to achieve a round shape and opening on this cowl lip … hubert
  9. It’s a great result ! My only « gripe » is the absence of the - so prominent on the original - rivets, but your reason not to include them is perfectly valid. And who am I, but an « armchair critic » 😁 ? Looking forward to your next build. Hubert
  10. Well, flying away was a characteristic of these wings … just ask Jochen Rindt about it (although it was a Lotus, not a Matra ….) Hubert
  11. Better a monster that you see than one where you need to squint to see your mistakes … Just my two cents 🤓 Hubert
  12. Roadster…Roadster 😁 Hubert
  13. I did the same, adding the Revell P-51 D, plus the Halberd « Beguine » conversion, in the hope I could kitbash the lot into an acceptable representation. I put everything in the same box, shook the box vigorously, whilst uttering a complex series of jinxes … I must have misspelled some jinx, as I did not get the famous « shake and bake » result. So, I have kept the Halberd conversion, given away the P-51 D kit, and stored the Trumpeter P-51 B properly. I.e. vertically 🙄 Hubert
