ICM's Hs-123 in Winter Clothes.

Featured Replies

I haven't been a very prolific modeller in the past 2-3 years. I've dropped two builds close to completion and deemed irreparable... Never-finished a few others. And gotten bogged down in projects where I had to stop because I couldn't make a part look factory.

This is my most recent completion. Inspired again by a photo... and my first attempt at winter weathering on an a/c.

Nice. I've been meaning to pick up one of these boxings, but I am hoping they release the B/Metal Wing variant, so I can build Galland's Hs123.

Thank you. It's a nice kit. I'm not even sure what the differences are between the A and B versions.

Perfection, the snow base underlines the realism even more.

Love it. Great and convincing winter camo.

How did you make the snow??

Thank you! 1st layer over the foam board was acrylic modelling paste with wheel tracks made with a spare 109 wheel on a metal axis. Around the wheel tracks, aka the ploughed-up snow was plaster of Paris with a bit of baking soda in it to make it crumbly laid over thinned PVA glue. On top of that was The Army Painter Battlefield snow. Some light grays were then airbrushed to try to give certain areas depth... and finally pure white dry brushed over raised areas. I never liked the way it looked while I was doing it, but in the photos, it has grown on me.

Whoa, I´m freezing, that came out very convincing, Gary. The whole setting cries minus degrees. Thank you for explaining your technique.

Cheers Rob

Very Nice looking Gary was poking my head in over at LSP but missed the finish....excellente!! 😉
