Scharnhorst Kreigsmarine-Trumpter-1/200-Operation Paderborn

Absolutely fantastic build, Kevin. There is so much detail and it oozes dedication. I feel the itch to do a larger scale ship soon, maybe the 1/144 Flower Class Corvette with full Pontos galore and Ion figures.
I didn´t found fitting PE railings too hard, when I built my USS Arizona. When curved shapes were needed, I carefully annealed the PE, which made it easier to bend and less springy.

Never really thought about less spring Rob but can see that could come into play.I now have both SS glued in play and have mounted the seven ladders required to go from main deck to the second deck. Thanks for looking in Martin,Rob,Andy and Dave.

The four 20mm on the rear deck have been added

That looks so good! Makes me wanna pitch all of my 1/350 scale fleet. What materials did you use for rigging? I notice your ropes have a nice Ropey color.

Gary I use Lyrca elastic line comes in different diameters and colors the white will be for the IJN flag lines while the Kreigsmarine used standard tan for flag lines.😉

The rigging in my book now is complete there was one more line from forward SS to the main upper line between the two mast 3X times once damaging said line between the mast I said frick it!!I now move to boarding ladders, davits and the like then some railing.I have some more 1/200 railing coming in from a different vendor what was supplied is very fragile!classic_wink

The double aerials took all together including the attschment to the yards about 10/12hrs in total different material ideals. What you see was the 4th iteration stretched sprue,.020 rod and a slow liquid cement I made myself so as not to burn the stretched sprue...it was quite maddening at times.classic_angry

Thanks to the new camera, there is so much detail to spot Kevin. The rigging looks fantastic and I wouldn´t have found out about the missing wire. You can be proud about what you achieved.
