June 27Jun 27 Some items.....For my Iwata Vault , Kustom CS; The parts needed to convertIt to a .5 mm needle when needed. This is the Eclipse based airbrush with theoversized color cup and the ability to use a larger needle would, I think, be a bonus. Also, the interior kit for the Lanmo Autoblinda 41 kit I got earlier. The kit really isn'tcomplete without it, I think. Why should this be sold separately?Last a set of Sanding sponges from Dspiae.

June 28Jun 28 Every now and then you come across a model that beats you. It either doesn’t fit, its detail wise all wrong or you heart was never in it and life is too short. If the manufacturer can’t be bothered to get it right , why should I ? You know the sort of thing.Well for me it will always be the Revell 1/8 E-type. It beat me into submission. Partly because of the parts quality and partly because of my inability to get two panels the same shade of colour. The one I never mention because it was so bad was Tamiyas 1st ever big scale car from 1968. It was a 1/12 Honda F1 RA273. I bought it several years ago, I think it was re-released in 2015, but mine was earlier with out the now included PE fret. I remember looking at the soft detail and under engineering meaning many parts were moulded into one block and thinking…….not for me. I think I actually threw it away I certainly never started it.Anyway, fast forward 11 years and I think I might have learned enough now to tackle this model particularly as there is now an endless amount of detail pics on line of the real thing. The only thing holding me back is all the other gallant attempts online by some excellent model builders have not managed to make it look like the real thing…they all look like a plastic toy, I can’t put my finger on it now but once I can see why….. I will give this model another go. Edited June 28Jun 28 by Paddy
June 28Jun 28 All built examples I´ve seen so far looked, like you described, toyish. I thought about buying the new re-pop, but decided against it. I´m happy with my also a little soft detail wise Tamiya RA272 in 1/20 and will build it using a lot of AM. Gotta love the pre printed tyres.Cheers Rob
June 28Jun 28 I corrected a mistake above it was released in 1968 by Tamiya and re-released again in 2015 and i think again in 2023 ? If anyone can work out why the model built up never looks like an accurate model and more like a scalextric do let me know 😂 it might just be the very simple engine that was really anything but..
July 1Jul 1 I decided to buy some UV curing resin putty after seeing a post by Carl in this section wherehe purchased some. Bought it on Amazon during prime days. Should work with theresin "Egg Girl" things I make occasionally. It will be interesting to see how it works. The only thing that has me worried is a stated Shelf-life of 6 months. I have used theLiquid resin from bottles over a year old ......almost two years.....with no problems.Anyway, thanks to Carl (FG2Si)for bringing it to my attention. Hope this may be useful. Thanks; have a great day and ,gentlemen , please remember that "Golden Rule" thing😀PaulFuncrecol light curing puttyHi Edited July 1Jul 1 by Belugawhaleman

Still seems fine. It still bonds things. (Star Bond) 2 bottles, one opened. I used it the other day to glue the cap on aFloor mop. I really don't like using CA so I'm not an expert. The Flexy Five stuff also seems to last if put in the fridge. But I've had that for about 6 months. I can remember getting some CA fromAmazon that was bad however. Edited July 2Jul 2 by Belugawhaleman

July 7Jul 7 Some new Dspiae tools for the bench. First up is a full set of different grits of adhesive sandpaper. They come in divided cases and it's cheaper to buy the sets than as individual grits. PE bending pliers. Wet palette for acrylic paints. Next up are some PE sanding boards to which I can stick the Dspiae sandpaper to. Lastly, you can't have too many Tomcats.
July 7Jul 7 As you might have guessed, I ordered that big M 24 , and it arrivedyesterday. The 1/16 Gecko US M24 Light Tank "Chaffee" WW II Version (16GMOO38) looks like a pretty nice kit. It has great detail andThe parts are nicely molded. The tracks and suspension work with coilsprings and torsion bars. There is a metal barrel and a sheet of PE. There is a detailed turret interior.I'm very pleased, and I'm going to build this kit right away after my current build😀 Edited July 9Jul 9 by Belugawhaleman
July 13Jul 13 Hello, some items today........From Tamiya, their 1/6 Scale Honda DAX Export 70(16002). This is the recent re-release of this kit. I built one back in1980......if I remember correctly. Also from Tamiya, their new U.S. Light Tank M24 Chaffee European Theater (35391) .An ancient offering ; Tamiya's Type 97 Chi- Ha. I built this one many years ago.I also got a couple of sets of Friulmodel tracks, a resin mantlet coverFor the Tamiya A34 Comet tank by DEF Models, and some stencil decals in 1/16 for .30 cal and .50 cal ammo boxes. The decals for the Ammo cans are for the GeckoChaffee ....the turret has a number of places forammunition can storage ....the decals would be a nice addition.Paul. I bought theMantlet cover because I have a set of post-war decals that include Markings for Irish,Finish, South African, and even Cuban Comets. I really don't know what era the kitmantlet is...it looks good but I didn't know if it was correct. It looks like you picked upsome good stuff recently, I'll look forward to your build. Inspired by your posts, I orderedthe Dspiae PE bender and some Dspaie sanding sticks. Look good😀 Edited July 15Jul 15 by Belugawhaleman
