July 14Jul 14 I'm calling this one done. It was a very challenging build from the get-go with some high cuss-factors involved! I'm glad to have it finished. The fuselage was a Lone Star Models resin set while the wings, tail plane, wheels, struts were Revell (which is what the conversion was meant for). The prop was cobbled together from my leftover stash. The canopy and windscreen are from my leftover stash also and were meant for a P-47. The kit vacuformed canopy was way out of scale and was unuseable. I modified the P-47 parts to at least look the part although not 100% accurate (still a lot better). Decals are from the conversion kit and my decal stash. Paint was Testor's GSB. It goes without saying there's no way I'd embark on another one although I'm pleased with the way it turned out. 😁 I hope you like it!!!! Edited July 15Jul 15 by JohnB593

July 14Jul 14 Nice John! A while back (months), I think I saw him post on FB about having found a couple of the conversion kit and was selling them. I thought about it (I always say the Corsair is my favorite.) but decided I didn't want to spend the amount that he was asking. I'm kinda glad I didn't.

Yes it wasn't cheap but I wanted one and decided to bite the bullet and get one while I could.
July 15Jul 15 Author I may decide to overspray with some semi-gloss to try to tone down the shiny finish. 🙂

July 18Jul 18 Author I just saw this on Farcebook. Now I'm thinking about modeling it to go with this model. First I'll need a Tamiya F4U-1D kit.
