Old Tamiya 1/48th Lancaster

Good day chaps

They say not many folks like change so I am unaware if previous version of this topic is available ?

I have been slowly building these two Tamiya kits for some time, it needs some upgrade and mods and I have done a few. There has been universal issues with the engine nacelles fitting but I like to think I have over come this quite easily. Another change I am under taking is removing all the original pre-painted paint on the clear parts; the canopy frame is grossly over sized. Just to bring this build up to speed I have included a number of pics with the last ones being the most recent work.
The tyres came with tread so I filled them to give the smooth finish
One of the aircraft had no fuselage windows
The 4000Ib bomb was under-sized so scratched a larger version
Undercarriage assembled and painted before insertion
Engines nacelles fitted with internal mod for a more streamline fit
Almost a full crew will be fitted in one of the aircraft
Wing roundel are small so hand painting new size

Nice to see this is still ongoing, I have a few of those kits in the stash, building one was one of the things that spurred me on to come back to modelling in the 1980's though I still have not got round to build build one (yet).

Cheers

Dennis
