July 20Jul 20 Here’s another shelf of doom project i meed to finish.More on the scheme later. For now i’m covering my butchering tracks. Lot’s sanding, hacking and filing.Making a shim for the area behind the gunbay.
July 20Jul 20 Author The mount i’m going for is that of Rom Pottinger.Based at Volkel (the Netherlands) with no3 squadron. Hit by flak on 1 January 1945 and taken POW.I have a few of his signatures.
July 21Jul 21 Author Started painting the engine after stripping it. The first black was too matt. Due to a poor casting the retainer belts were lost. Made them from tape strips.
July 22Jul 22 Author More colour on the engine.You can’t build the engine completely and them paint. This is by far the most complicated engine i have built.
July 24Jul 24 Author Yes! Scored my 3rd instrument to go along with this build. I am making the right part of the instrUment panel with 2 fuel gauges and this boost gauge. This gauge comes in original packaging and a contemporary newspaper

July 28Jul 28 Author I will have the part of the instrument panel laser cut from aluminium. Searching for the red warning light now and another fuel gauge. Then this will form the backdrop for the base.
