September 23Sep 23 I have returned to the forum after a while and finding out it all got saddly wiped. But I do now return. And bring with me the recently discovered wonders of 3D printing!!So here's my 2nd project. A roughly 1/3 scale Goliath tracked mine
September 23Sep 23 Author Here's what I shall be building I shall upload my parts and progress at a later date

September 23Sep 23 Author Here are some photos of the main hull and the side sponsors that hold the tracks road wheels and return rollers. And a whole load of track links. Each side will take 47 links I believe
September 23Sep 23 Welcome back! That's a pretty cool build. Are you going to use a gearbox from an existing RC vehicle or 3D print one of those as well?Carl
September 23Sep 23 Author I have a pair of the best chinesium gearboxes that I am hoping to fit inside the final drive housing.I'm going try and subtract the shape of the gearboxes from the housing and hopefully it should fit inside nice and snug then I just need to hook up the electronics and it should be good to go.I found a good 2 channel controller on Facebook marketplace ha ha.
September 23Sep 23 Welcome back. That puts my efforts to build a RC Das Werk’s Leopard2A7v into context.
September 23Sep 23 Author Now to the current stage of the project.Today's addition are the front road wheel assembly's The model as a whole is a pretty simple kit designed to be put together with almost no screws. So all the wheels and suspension parts are push fit or go together with what is almost like a Lego clip. The model has been scaled up by just under 240%ajd I had to cut the sides and centre hull into 2 parts respectively. Unfortunately when printing I made a mistake with the slicer and cut about 10mm off of the rear section. But I'm hopeful I can drill some holes through the small bits and pin them together with something like a tooth picAnd here is a general overview of the build as a whole.
September 24Sep 24 Welcome back and wow! That must have been a pretty detailed 3d model if youre able to scale it up this much and still retain so much detail. Defo following this!

September 25Sep 25 Author Did some drilling and pinning yesterday with the toothpicks working brilliantly to pin those parts in place that I accidentally cut off in the printer program. Now into printing the pins for holding the top and side panels in place
September 27Sep 27 Author 3D modelling is such a fun thing.Basically learning it just for this and future projects. but I'm getting there.
September 28Sep 28 Author All coming together. Just need some wire connectors to arrive and I can test all the electronics and put the newly modified gearboxes and assembly together and it should go :D
September 29Sep 29 Author Well it may have taken 1.5 million iterations and me getting way to over zealous and both thinking through the fact a motor with gearbox and the hub I designed to go on it would all definitely not fit inside the tanks final drive housing without splitting it in two was quite the "DOGH" moment. But it's all looking like it will actually work out.Now if I could just get the damn wires and connectors I ordered to be delivered I could look at actual finishing this thing.
Thursday at 10:06 PM5 days Author Some work done.A few hours playing with shapes and some callipers and BING We have a frame for holding the reciver and ESC for the drive motors. :D
