Bench? what bench...I'm rebuilding my work bench right now. I build this out in my shed the other week to give us more storage. I realized it's at the right ride height and depth for a work bench. S

Well, during the hiatus I did the unfathomable. I cleaned up my bench a bit. From my usual style: ....to a bit better... ...finally to "oh, this is the colour of my bench" And no, I did not use AI

What's on my bench? Racks, new racks😀 I've been reorganizing my work place.

I recently got two racks, one from Godhand, the other from Hobby Mio.

The blue nipper rack is the Godhand. I've been working on a resin figure.

I'm trying to get restarted again😀

Somehow mine still has clear space on it.

I'm making progress on the F-16. Burner can is done.

MLG is one piece. Gear bay, legs and wheels are attached to the fuselage as a single unit. You can see them here prior to paint.

PXL_20260503_172022413.jpg

The same goes for the NLG. I painted and installed both.

It's a long weekend here in the Great White North so I spent some time at the bench working on the F-16. The cockpit goes together a bit differently from usual.

Side consoles.

PXL_20260516_191827274.MP.jpg

Since the fuselage is one piece, I left them out until now.

I also masked and painted the intake lip.

Lastly, it's been a lot of detail painting with a brush. I think I really should get a hand rest as it wasn't easy to keep my hand steady using a brush. Nothing new with the shaking, that's been happening since I was a teen, more the hand fatigue.

That must be the most detailed egg plane ever, with all that 3D printed stuff Carl. The egg missiles look good, but I miss extensive use of PE classic_biggrin.

It certainly is the best detailed I've come across. This is the same company that is doing the Snowbirds Tutor later this year.

My first attempt at the IPs was a mess so I started over. The second try was much better.

PXL_20260520_223237660.jpg

I've started on the decals. They're by Cartograf which is nice.

PXL_20260520_143413099.jpg

I started with the missiles.

No longer on the bench but in the air and it's lucky it made it that far little POS.Lots of little imperfections lets just say I lost much interest in this build all together it was get off my desk.Yes Kevin hates doing sheetrock.🙃

IPs are installed in the Viper.

PXL_20260521_211650498.jpg

Of course it was at this point that I noticed there were decals for some of the instruments. Oh well.

Seats in.

PXL_20260521_211918607.jpg

Onto decals for the fuselage now.

Looks great Carl, now you need an egg-crew classic_biggrin.

Crew?...........How about this "Egg Girl" pilot figure ? Although at 1/12 scale, Claire wouldn't

fit your cockpit😀. Anyway, Nice work Carl.

That's a great looking figure Paul!

Trying to get some stuff done but Sunny decided to hop in my lap and promptly fall asleep.

PXL_20260522_201652195.jpg

Will have to try again in a bit when he wakes up.

Okay, so after Sleeping Beauty woke up and left I was able to get the decals finished. I also installed the underwing stores.

PXL_20260523_024220049.jpg

PXL_20260523_024227868.MP.jpg

I then polished and dipped the rear canopy. Joy Craft gives you two sets of 3D printed clear sections.

PXL_20260523_163025332.jpg

I used a Godhand sanding sponge set and a dip in Looks Like Glass to get it clear.

PXL_20260523_163055131.MP.jpg

Final assembly should be the next step once the canopy is dry.

There's always something at the end. I re did the clear on the front canopy but it wicked up some staining from the tray it was in.

PXL_20260523_202836699.jpg

Close up of the stains.

PXL_20260523_202749642.jpg

So I broke out the backup, polished it and gave it a dip. Now it's drying.

PXL_20260523_202851303.jpg

Otherwise, I'm almost done.

PXL_20260523_203156567.jpg

The Scharnhorst has hit desk but some minor repairs are in order first on the rear SS I guess fat fingers?I also wanted to inspire Carl I said boy Inspire Carl!!(think Foghorn) I spent all day yesterday cleaning sanding the ole paint off the desk, put a new wire rack to the left side and organized the AM goodies and what was there moved to the right side for tools.scharnhorst 003.JPG

The new rack confiscated from work 🤫

scharnhorst 001.JPG

Just look all my RLM colors are labeled numbered and in sequential order

scharnhorst 002.JPG

The r/side some easy grab stuff no longer on the desk.

That was a great kit and it bodes well for the forthcoming CT-114 Tutor later this year.

Nice little bugger, Carl. You need to be careful, that it didn´t get stuck on these classic hanging flycatchers classic_biggrin.

Cheers Rob
