So... I thought about it and I might... 3d draw a turret without framing and 3d print the separate framing. This is tricky because the framing should be really thin and the fit should be flawless.

I did a quick trial in 3d and I think it might work. Not sure yet. I think the vac form I pulled with the framing incorporated will do nice as well. Masking it is doable too. We'll see.

I don't know why I do this, but for some reason an early war EMA Coles Crane will look nice lifting one of the Anson engines. There is now a lot of reference to go by. Two examples survive in museums, but not a lot of reference photo's float around. I think I have just about enough reference to make a start though. As soon as this 3D model is finished, I'll see how it rolls from the printer and offer the 3d files in the download section. So stay tuned and if you have any drawings, please share.

There are a lot of version with slight differences. Solid wheels for use on concrete floors. Closed cabins, half open cabins, etc..

no they are not. For some reason they are of higher resolution than what I could find. Sending them an email now!

Managed to find two decent large sized pics online that cleared a few things up. Really hope I'll be able to obtain more pics. Especially from the drivers compartment.

And just like that we've got an engine. The Thornycroft NS6 engine. A 6 cilinder diesel that powered the generator.

Simply uploaded 2 side views in Tripo and got a pretty simple 3d model. I won't display the whole hood open, so it's just to make it look busy inside.

And a little bit more work on the Coles Crane. I asked for help from a Coles Crane group on Facebook, but so far no luck.

I have a few high res images that give me some support. also: It looks like almost every version or photo I find shows differences in the cab, crane, wheels etc. That's why I will hold on as much as I can to the one in the museum, with only terrain wheels instead of wheels for tarmac and concrete.
