It started off as a 1/96 Constructo kit, but I found it so inaccurate scale wise that I kit bashed it, getting plans from the original Cutty Sark museum , trying to do it as scale as I could using my own materials. I pretty much built it by scratch after doing the planking all of the rigging, the sails, railing, the water barrels, the ropes. most of the blocks were handmade too. Now I have more online sources for scale blocks and deadeyes to buy. The copper sheeting is just quarter inch copper tape that I embossed myself. It’s about 34 inches long and 27 inches high and there’ll be some details here. The USS constitution I’m beginning is going to be made mostly from scratch as well starting with a kit from mamoli. I made a lot of of the deck items by hand trying to match scale like the bilge pumps on the deck and winches I made with washers and brass tubing I did buy anchors and the ship wheels and some things that you can’t make, but a lot of it is scratch made. In making the sails, I found that I couldn’t sew even on my wife’s smallest stitch. Size just didn’t look right so I ended up just gluing thread to the sales to make them using an Indian lawn linen
