Hi all, I ordered 80 and 100 mm long 1.2 mm diameter drills to clear the resin blockages in the lower wing support holes. The 80 mm long drills arrived today and easily drilled out most of the blockages. Once the 100 mm long drills arrive and are used the support holes will be clear to fully insert the support rods giving adequate wing support. Another potential problem is the length of the kit supplied support rods. For best support of the wings the kit supplied 1.2 mm diameter steel rods ought to be long enough to span from one wing tip to the other. However, they are not long enough for the upper and lower wings. If the rods were long enough (wing tip to wing tip) they would be able to support the entire upper wing assembly without any flexing strain on the upper wing halves at the wing centre section. The same applies for the lower wings at the fuselage. One option would be using the kit supplied rods inserted into the wings but with only short ends protruding to insert into the holes in the upper wing centre section and fuselage for the lower wings. Given the brittle nature of the 3D printed material I think the weight of the wings could put strain on those joints and with possible alignment errors. A second option would be to insert the rods through the upper wing centre section and fuselage for the lower wings with equal rod protrusion at each side. But that means the rods would not be far enough into the wings for full wing support. Therefore, I've ordered 300 mm lengths of 1.2 mm steel rod which will span wing tip to wing tip. Using these rods means there would be no joint strain at the upper wing centre section and fuselage for the lower wings. Also the wings will be fully supported, Mike
