All done with this little kit. It wasn't a famous or well know racer but I liked the yellow/black scheme. This was a very easy build with no hangups. I painted it with Tamiya gloss Lemon Yellow which really catches my eye. Decals are from my stash and from the Accurate Miniatures sheet for this kit. I started it as a "time filler" while I considered my next 1/32 build. Still not sure but leaning toward another Tamiya 1/32 F4U-1D which I would really like to convert to a F2G if I could find a con

This is maybe my best model. Or: the one I'm most proud of. It started of as a Revell Fw190A, which I transformed to a A8 by 3D printing the cannon bulges and ejection chutes under the wing. I was gifted a piece of aileron with the paint and some fabric still on, recovered around 1980 in Vreeland. Close to Schiphol Airport in The Netherlands during Operation Bodenplatte. Heinz-Jürgen Kilian of 3./JG1 was hit by friendly AA and managed to bail out. His chute did not open, or opened too late and h

This build has been started some years ago. The reason, I post it again are twofold, one reason being to add another aspect of modelling to LSM Mark II and on the other hand to motivate myself to finish the build, which stalled with rigging. The name giving Duchess was a very interesting person, to say the least. The Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum has just announced that the RCAF demonstration team Snowbirds will be doing a ground display at the Museum on June 17th. I'll be using the Accurate Miniatures 1/48 kit for this build. It will be a largely unknown a/c which competed in one race and came in last LOL! I like the simple yellow scheme and markings plus the P-63 prop (which is in the AM kit). This will mostly be a "time filler" until I decide on my next 1/32 build. Should be a fun build. 😁

I see on FB that Sprue has received the airfreight shipment, and they say that those who pre-ordered at NATS last year, will be shipped today. And those who pre-ordered in the last week or so, will be shipped tomorrow.

Churchill’s “Flying Suitcase”

With the new look and renewed activity of the forum, I’ll be making a (gradual) change to the way I’ve been presenting my reviews.
I will continue doing reviews, but this time as full build logs straight from the box.
I’m not exactly an internationally renowned modeller (although at home I’m very well known!), and when this opportunity came up, I was genuinely excited—almost like a modelling rebirth, as I currently feel in a state of complete modelling apathy, with little drive or motivation.
With that honest admission, I make a commitment here, in this virtual space, to follow through as quickly as possible!
The chosen subject will be the ICM Hampden B.Mk.I in 1:48 scale.
I’ll be sharing step-by-step photos of the build and my thoughts along the way—what proved more challenging, how the assembly goes, the level of detail, and so on.
The paint scheme will be one of the options provided in the box, so I can make use of the supplied decals, while the paints used will be my own preferred choices.
I’ll leave you with some initial photos, and now it’s time to head to the bench to cut, glue some plastic, paint… and take pictures!

Our cleaning lady is so thorough, that dust flees, before she even started. Don´t touch is hard for her to accept though. How many time have I told her not to touch my turntables, but often they are dust free, when she leaves, but she didn´t touch, she says .
Finished builds are not that important to me. I love the way to get there, but then loose interest and store my finished kits im my cave tight packed. Sometimes I give some away as a present.

Heinz-Jürgen Kilian of 3./JG1 was hit by friendly AA and managed to bail out. His chute did not open, or opened too late and he landed hard on a frozen stream and died.
The base was made of laser but and bend aluminium sprayed RLM66.
The trim gauge and fuse button are from a Fw190A and can both be found in the left console.
I used 1ManArmy masks, all the Eduard sets I could find, etc..
