Time to get with the program on this one! It will require quite a bit of work to remove most of the resin parts from their molds and then get 'em cleaned up, etc. I plan on doing "Big Mac Junior" this time. Colorful, etc. Onward and upward! LOL 😀

Hey everyone, Whenever I take quick progress photos of a build on the bench or snap finished shots of a 1/32 or 1/24 kit, getting clean photographs with a phone is always trickier than expected. Overhead hobby desk lamps tend to create intense glare spots on clear canopies, windshields, and glossy decals, while leaving deep shadows in cockpits, wheel wells, and engine compartments. I have to admit, I´m addicted to MFH kits, I do some plastic model building in between, but feel unsatisfied and bored while being at it, which meant, I need a magic potion to let the Mojo flow again. Posted the start of this on the old forum, before it went down. The intention was see if this kit could be made into a working RC tank. All while trying to retain as much as the kit as possible. I first investigated whether a propitiatory lower hull could be used, but this would not have been correct, so was dismissed. This would have been an easy solution, but why make life easier? Hi all, As the Sopwith 2F.1 Camel is coming to a close, I've started researching the next build. The Wingnut Wings RAF RE.8 kit. I'll model this as a RE.8 of the 6me Escadrille, Belgian Aviation Militaire, at Houthem-lez-Furnes airfield in 1917. This particular aircraft, serial number A 3715 ‘6’, was built in Coventry, England and was transferred to Belgian’s in July 1917. Initially this aircraft was delivered with the RAF 4a engine fitted, but this was later replaced by a Hispano-Suiza engine.

This is my first proper plastic work in over 6yrs. I can't include a Spitfire conversion I was working on as that is on hiatus, and these projects MUST be completed - for my own sanity. I wanted to do something I wasn''t going to beat myself up over in terms of rivet counting. The two kits used here are the standard Eagle Transporter, and the 'Cargo Pod' versions. I do have to confess that the standard machine was more of less structurally built TEN years ago....I just never got around to finish

Here's a construction tip for anyone planning to build one of these. If you don't have the cockpit sidewalls JUST RIGHT (I didn't this time) the areas I have marked will interfere with the instrument panel, etc fit and need to be removed so that the instrument panel, rudder pedals, etc will go in place without BIG problems. Since those two areas aren't visible when the instrument panel, etc are in place there's no problem. The IP assembly will drop in with the minimum of problems. 😃

Hi Nick, I guess you mean part M1, the front frame, right. I also had a lot of difficulties to fit part one onto the engine block and connect them with the V-shaped parts (M204, M205) at the same time.
If I remember correct, I cut away the lower connection points from part M1 to the engine block, to geet it right. I glued part M1 flush to the engine and managed somehow to connect all other parts.
Are you sure, that part M1 sits perfectly correct with yours, it´s absolutely critical, but hard to see. You should check this and of course the fit of the airbox RE14. Part M1 later connects the engine and rear part with the front monocoque, so you should check this direction as well. There is no way, that the distance between engine and monocoque could be wrong.
Acetone does loosen CA glue, unfortunately the paint as well, but if there is no way around, it´s better to rebuild that part to get it right.

I am using a Heng Long TK 7.1 board. It fits the requirements for this build, so no need for expensive aftermarket aftermarket boards. The board for this tank, came from my Challenger, which needed an aftermarket Clark Board for the correct engine sound. The TK 7.1 are available from Forgebear, or Haya in the UK Aliexpress, and Amazon.
Apart from a few small details that need to be painted off the tank it is now ready for paint. It will of course require taking apart. A lot of the parts are just dry fitted for this reason. If the weather behaves it will be given a coat of etch primer over the weekend. The periscopes will be installed, and the lenses masked, a coat of black will then be sprayed in areas like the engine covers. This will be given a couple of days to fully dry, followed by an overall finish of green. The green, is a bit pale and bright for a Danish camouflage scheme. Then it will be masking off for the NATO black. The green should darken with weathering.

Ha ha i ordered the pontos kit then looked on here to see you have it too :-). I am not a great fan of PE simply because its 2D so things like railings are flat, however i read a review and its said you use about 50% of it which sounds right for most PE sets.....we shalll see :-)

Hi Rob, I am having with part m192 interfering with the intake I’ve arrowed.

I suspect it’s m192 at fault as it was quite misshapen and I thought i had straightened it. As it is if fouls the end of the intake so something is obviously wrong.
I should have built all this up beforehand but it’s my first MFH build and I’m still learning the ways… I think my plan will be to build up the intercooler that the intake connects to and test fit that along with the lower bodywork piece and hopefully that will tell me if the problem is with the bracket or the intake?
