Hi all, As the Wingnut Wings RE.8 model is nearing completion, I'm researching the next model. I think six years of waiting for the Copper State kit to be released was enough. Therefore, I've decided to build the Lukgraph 3D printed version instead. Hansa-Brandenburg D.I, Serial No: 28.15 of Flik 41/J at Sesana, 4th August 1917. This particular aircraft was built by the Phönix company as one of a batch 28.01 – 28.24 ordered on the 24th of June 1916. It was powered by the Austro-Daimler 185hp 6-c

A few years ago, Italeri released a 1/12 model of the classic Fiat 500. They then followed it up with the sportier Abarth 695 version which I picked up. The box Art depicts the racing version with the wide fender flares and propped open trunk to assist in cooling the engine. I'll be doing mine as a street version but with the fenders. Even in 1/12 scale, it's not a big car. First up, I built the engine. The fit is okay, but there's a fair number of sink marks to take care of. Here's the com

This is my first attempt at a ship. I would guess i started building about 55 years ago so quite a miles stone for me . I have to admit i know nothing about ships other than the basics you pick up on in life so all i can do is apply general modeling principles and steal other peoples ideas from the millions of builds on the Web . My biggest problem will be the scale, i like to add nuts and bolts and wiring to a 1/12 car, its hard to see what i can add to this kit other than PE. Normally i avoid

OK so this is a bit of a mystery, this is a gun sight i picked up a few years back, one of a box of sights i came across however this one is different in that it has a tiltable glass. his is to allow for a 5 degree drop in a 20mm canon or RPG over the same distance as a .303" bullet in British aircraft. this was a common fitment to ground attack aircraft but this one is odd in that i have never seen one before and i can find no reference or pictures of this model. I am calling this one done she came out OK and I might give another Very Fire kit a go.I would not use this model for rigging as the way to do things so many drawings and interpretations and few up close pics exist if they do just what I have learned over time.😉 The ship in question in 1944 very clean even the anchor we'll say mine is late 44 early 45

As the title states. There has been a pretty big hacker attack on numerous servers based in the UK. Our forum happened to be on one of them. As were our 2 back-up servers. Last Friday we were informed by our server host that all data has been deleted by the hackers. This means: our forum website all of our topics, builds and images and all of our member details / accounts We've worked hard over the past few days and did this: We bought a new license with a better, even more secure forum host

1:32nd scale Hansa-Brandenburg D.I Star Strutter

Hi all,
Initial start on the build.
Wing support rod exit holes in wing tips filled with UV setting resin then sanded.
Upper wing ailerons pinned and angled.
Elevators pinned and angled.
Rudder pinned.
The support rod holes through the two lower wings were blocked with resin and cannot be totally drilled out.
I've asked Lukgraph if replacement wings can be sent.
Otherwise the lower wings will not be fully supported and may sag or distort.

The pilots seat as supplied is solid and smooth and I think a bit too long.
The actual seat had lightening holes in the seat frame, which was covered with basic padding with cushion.
I shortened the seat and brushed Mr. Surfacer 500 (two coats) over the inside of the seat to represented seat padding.
I also made a basic seat cushion.

The instrument panel does not seem to be configured the same as the actual instrument panel.
However, this may be the result of service modifications carried out.

As supplied the engine throttle lever is on the right side of the cockpit.
The actual aircraft seems to have the throttle lever on the left side of the cockpit.

Well, time for an update on the Fiat. The instructions are full or contradictions when it comes to the paint colours, particularly around the chassis. One page will say grey, another black and a third white for the same section. I sort of gave up and decided on white for the front trunk and exposed interior metal, very for the engine bay and black underneath.
Italeri give you several PE parts to replicate the interior carpet/floor mats... After a vain attempt at using them, I gave up. No amount of annealing was going to get them to have a suitable amount of bend/drape.

This is where I got stuck for a while. Trying to figure out substitutions. I bought some checked material made by Zoom On but it frayed too much.

It probably would have looked neat if it had worked.
I ended up trying some thin felt sheets I found at the neighbourhood art store. I traced out the floor onto tape, then used that as a template.

I'm happy either the way it's turned out.

I have read a few write ups on the 1/72 and it's supposed to be a pretty poor model so i expect it needs all the help it can get 🤣

The Flower class is such an iconic part of Canada's navy from WWII.
That's quite the upgrade set you've got there for it.
I know for the older 1/72 Matchbox kit, Great Little Ships made so many upgrades for the kit that if you bought them all, pretty much all that was left of the kit was the hull. Hopefully that not the case here.

Revell 1/144 Flower class Corvette

6 sheets of PE approx 8" x 4.5"

assorted turned brass fittings, depth charges and gun barrels , also wooden deck and some rigging line not shown

And where i am now, This is the last chance to finish this as a large kayak before it becomes a small ship
First job now is to fit the portholes. These are not listed in the instructions and the finished Portus model doesnt show them but there are 50 on the PE sheet.
I am going to follow closely the You tube build as to be honest, i know no better and he has fitted the portholes.
