FW190- ZM A-4 and a Revell A-8

These were started a little while back. They then got lost on my bench while I worked on whatever had my fleeting attention. So, having finished the F-16 my bench is ready to get these done. The ZM kit is much further along with the cockpit done, fuselage closed up and the majority of the wings completed as well as the engine. The Revell one has the wings started, the fuselage halves together, and the engine mostly complete.

My first build here :-) lets see how it goes. This is a Matra Simca F1 car from 1968. The usual mix of plastic and white metal from MFH. My first problem here is finding reference pictures because MFH has produced an MS11 chassis with a MS9 engine which is correct but nearly all surviving cars seem to have an MS12 engine as above. Anyway thats a detail but it does mean that i will have to guess some details, not least engine colour. This is a strange choice from MFH here but it should be not

The Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum has just announced that the RCAF demonstration team Snowbirds will be doing a ground display at the Museum on June 17th. Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum Event Details - Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum Event detailsThis is most likely the last visit of the Snowbirds to the museum until the 2030s as the CT-114 Tutor that they fly is being retired at the end of the season. Since the B-17C was such a headache and wound up on the SOD, I need something that is ENJOYABLE to build. This Corsair fills that bill perfectly. 😁 I haven't yet decided on markings but am considering a "production line" theme. We will see.....

A few years ago, Italeri released a 1/12 model of the classic Fiat 500. They then followed it up with the sportier Abarth 695 version which I picked up. The box Art depicts the racing version with the wide fender flares and propped open trunk to assist in cooling the engine. I'll be doing mine as a street version but with the fenders. Even in 1/12 scale, it's not a big car. First up, I built the engine. The fit is okay, but there's a fair number of sink marks to take care of. Here's the com

This is my first 1/48 model. Surprisingly, there were a few parts in the kit that didn't fit together very well. Very affordable building kit. And quick to assemble. I will be adding some stowage.

Very nice. I remember having to scratch the side panel detail on the Revell kit. Noce that it is included on the ZM kit. Keep up the good work!

On the Revell kit, I added the upper wings. There was a slight warp but a quick clamp while the glue was setting sorted it out.

@Paddy , here's what I mean by the Eduard resin parts not fitting. You can see the gap all the way around the gun mount.

Even the cockpit coaming is too small but I had it glued in before closing up the fuselage so not much I can do with that.
With the kit gun mount in place and under a coat of paint.

I've made a bit of progress on the two kits.

First up, on the ZM I finished the back of the engine.

I then joined the engine with the airframe.

Now, onto the various cowl panels. The side panels have the option of open or closed louvers. I've decided to go with the open ones.

feels like I'm wearing mittens.....not to mention my eyesight!

Thanks, I had seen that tool on Amazon where it was overpriced and was
described as being made of plastic.....so I steered away from it. After seeing
a YOUTUBE review I changed my mind. Its very well-made of anodized Aluminum
and steel.much like a Dspiae product. I need to make some small banjo fittings for
a large-scale tank I'm going to build. I think ths will do the trick😀 It is smaller than I thought. BTW I found it on EBAY for half the Amazon
Price.

I thought it was.

Some paints. By MRP and AMMO Mig (with some thinner). Including the elusive shade......."moss green"
A set of Oilbrusher (collection vol. 1) I'll try something new with these😀
From Dspiae, some of their silicon sandpaper for their reciprocating sander.
From Kisrel, UV curing resin in both transparent and opaque colors...works great
for quickly filling seams and imperfections on plastic or resin.
From Bowitzki, as set of sponges that I'm going to try to do chipping😀
From Mazha, a tool for (jig) for drilling styrene round-stock...nicely made like Dspiae.
I'm plan to start trying, for me, new techniques with some of these items. The
Oilbrushers, and sponges. I'm getting ready to start a new kit. Haven't picked one yet.
Leaning to something in 1/16.

The exhaust has 8 tiny springs that should hold the tail pipes to their support bracket but it will be a better man than me who can fit them.
After 20 mins i got one fitted with the aid of 2x glasses and a 20x lens but as i tried to fit the next the first one pinged off. The problem for me is they are too long so it would mean cutting them and forming a new hooked end but to get them to sit right they need a little bit of tension and that makes stretching them and hooking them very tricky ( beyond my eyesight at least).....Its a shame as its a detail thats right on the top of the engine but i think i need to find some other way of doing this. To make matters worse i have lost a very small PE part on one exhaust that also sticks out like a sore thumb.
