After finishing my Unicorn Gundam, I chose to continue with another Japanese super kit. The started log was lost in the gone forum and I will continue here. The BT52b was a successful design, winning the world championship drivers title with Nelson Piquet in 1983. It was the turbo era and the BT52b was the most powerful of all formula One cars until today and could generate up to 1500 horsepower in qualification mode. That came with a price, making the car difficult to drive with it´s turbo lag.

My first build here :-) lets see how it goes. This is a Matra Simca F1 car from 1968. The usual mix of plastic and white metal from MFH. My first problem here is finding reference pictures because MFH has produced an MS11 chassis with a MS9 engine which is correct but nearly all surviving cars seem to have an MS12 engine as above. Anyway thats a detail but it does mean that i will have to guess some details, not least engine colour. This is a strange choice from MFH here but it should be not

Question for people who post scale model build logs, paint demos, review clips, or bench videos. If the spoken notes are useful but compressor noise, sanding, cutting, room sound, camera noise, or background music makes the voice hard to hear, do you clean up the narration before posting? I am not talking about hiding a build mistake or making a product review sound cleaner than it was. I mean an owned clip where the goal is to make the explanation easier to follow. The checks I would use

Time to resurrect this build now the Mk-24 is complete going to be photo heavy guys and using an outside server for pics since they are stored there in order methinks should be.👍 The START of some AM🙃 The porthole were all drilled and exterior ladders installed these were 1/350 for IJN in that scale measure 24" across 18" in 1/200 and KM were narrow by pics. Thank you Paddy, I´m sure you are . I was adding the right radiator with it´s plumbing and made another test fit with the rear body. Everything looks fine, astonishingly. Connecting all the loose ends of the tubing will be another challenge.
Blood sweat and tears, that´s what MFH kits are made of, but also joy, positive challenge and lots of satisfaction. No other type of kit gives me that felling of pleasure, not only at the end, but within the build as well.

Mesh domes look good, Paddy. Bummer with the missing parts. Another fellow modeler had similar problems with missing parts and not only in one kit. After hearing about, I checked all my 1/12 and 1/9 MFH kits against the printed parts list and nothing was missing, luckily. It was a heap of work, but who knows, how long MFH will have spare parts.

Audio cleanup in scale model build videos

Question for people who post scale model build logs, paint demos, review clips, or bench videos.

If the spoken notes are useful but compressor noise, sanding, cutting, room sound, camera noise, or background music makes the voice hard to hear, do you clean up the narration before posting?

I am not talking about hiding a build mistake or making a product review sound cleaner than it was. I mean an owned clip where the goal is to make the explanation easier to follow.

The checks I would use are:

keep the original recording as the reference
do not remove tool, airbrush, sanding, snap, fit, or handling sounds that matter to the build
avoid background music unless I have rights to use it
preview any separated voice/background result before saving it
listen for artifacts that make the process feel less honest
disclose meaningful edits if the clip supports a review or troubleshooting question

For modelling videos, is cleaned-up narration useful, or is raw bench audio better because the process sounds are part of the evidence?

No link or product recommendation is needed. I am asking about build-video workflow and forum etiquette.

Slight delay to proceedings here as i seem to have quite a few parts missing. I contacted MFH and they are already in the post. I cant get far without any front suspension upper wishbones + another 7 parts in all.
