My first build here :-) lets see how it goes. This is a Matra Simca F1 car from 1968. The usual mix of plastic and white metal from MFH. My first problem here is finding reference pictures because MFH has produced an MS11 chassis with a MS9 engine which is correct but nearly all surviving cars seem to have an MS12 engine as above. Anyway thats a detail but it does mean that i will have to guess some details, not least engine colour. This is a strange choice from MFH here but it should be not

Hi all, This is my first online build log on the new Large Scale Modeller forum. This build is already at 75% at the moment, but I'll try to upload as many build pics I can find on my devices. The kit is the Trumpeter me262, with an MDC U2 conversion.

A few years ago, Italeri released a 1/12 model of the classic Fiat 500. They then followed it up with the sportier Abarth 695 version which I picked up. The box Art depicts the racing version with the wide fender flares and propped open trunk to assist in cooling the engine. I'll be doing mine as a street version but with the fenders. Even in 1/12 scale, it's not a big car. First up, I built the engine. The fit is okay, but there's a fair number of sink marks to take care of. Here's the com

Welcome to my first finished kit of LSM MK. II. Overall the Brabham BT 52b was an enjoyable build, with only a few negative aspects. When finishing a MFH kit, I´m always a bit proud, but also a bit annoyed by myself, because of the errors I made and the shortcuts I took. In the end, the guided missile looks good and I think, it is the nicest car of the turbo era, where many oddities where racing around. I listed some positives and negatives about the kit in a list. This is apparently on pre-order for Eduard's E-day. Squadron is also showing it as a pre-order, $165. I'm assuming that Eduard will have them at IPMS-USA NATS in August where I'm planning on picking one up.

Hi all, Just purchased the Aladdin Models 1/32 Avro Anson. A lot has been said on Facebook and LSP about the accuracy. I won't dwell on that too much, since this topic deals with the technical side of getting a proper and buildable print. Clear parts My biggest fear are the clear parts. I've never been able to print proper clear parts. I've tried Anycubic transparent resin with sad results. Now I tried Elegoo transparent resin. I thought it made sense since I print in an Elegoo printer now as

Nice surgery Carl, it is Italeri after all, a journey back into modelling medieval. I went weak on my promise never to buy an Italeri kit and now have two, the same Fiat and the large Alfa Romeo 8C.

Good idea on the pins. Quite why Italeri still go for the hot knives on new moulds in the 21st century i dont know. Be forewarned if you can pin and glue rather than use their useless self tap screws, do so, and it you decide to use Mig washes on italeri plastic dont 😄 it will go hard and crack in days. The screws dont so much self tap as just expand the hole and put it under strain and again it will be split by the following Morning.

Fiat Abarth 695- Italeri 1/12

Working away at bits and bobs.
The rear suspension arms are together.

The frame mounts are split in halves and don't have the cleanest seam so needed some putty. Then according to the instructions, they're painted white even though everything else is black. I will have to figure out a way to mask things to do that. Definitely not liking the silver plastic. Makes seam cleanup a right pain.

I also put together the front uprights. Again, silver plastic and nasty seams.

Lastly, the steering arms. Italeri has this made from several components that you fit together. You then use a hot knife to melt the ends of the pins to lock it all together. The kit has parts for right and left hand drive so make sure you use the correct parts before you do the above. I ended up mixing up a couple so had to do some surgery.
I cut the parts loose and made new pins from brass and sheet styrene. I first drilled a hole in the styrene them centred the hole in a punch.

I then punched out the disc and attached the brass rod to it.

The tie rods were then reassembled using the correct components.
